Anna joined Springboard in 2007 as Controller and has since played a pivotal role in the organization’s financial health and growth. Appointed Director of Finance, IT, and Facilities in 2015, she oversees a broad range of operational functions.
Prior to her tenure at Springboard, Anna’s career spanned both academia and the corporate world. She began her professional journey as a finance professor teaching at universities in East Africa, sharing her expertise with aspiring business leaders. This experience laid the foundation for her subsequent roles in the for-profit sector, where she worked with an investment banking firm.
After relocating to Canada, Anna transitioned into the non-profit sector, bringing her financial acumen to organizations such as March of Dimes and Goodwill Industries. Her progressive roles within these organizations have solidified her expertise in managing the financial affairs of charitable institutions.
A dedicated community advocate, Anna has been instrumental in Springboard’s efforts to expand housing options for individuals with developmental disabilities. As the leader of the organization’s Housing Development Initiative for the past decade, she has championed initiatives that have directly impacted the lives of individuals in need.
Beyond her work at Springboard, Anna is actively involved in the broader non-profit community. She serves on the Grants Committee for the ProAction Cops & Kids Foundation and the Finance Committee of the Ontario Nonprofit Network (ONN). Additionally, she supports ONN’s advocacy efforts for long-term funding reform for transfer payment agencies.
For me, being part of the Springboard team means much more than just a job. I have an opportunity to contribute to something that provides individuals with hope as they struggle with various challenges in their lives. This has given me an incedible satisfaction and sense of purpose to my work.
