Youth Community Justice Programs

Programs for young people aged 12-24 in Ontario, providing alternatives to formal court processes and/or custody. These programs engage young people in further developing their skills and seek to repair harm caused where possible.

Attendance Program

Youth Ages 12-17 at time of charge | Youth Justice System Involvement

Originally developed as a sentencing alternative for youth on probation, conditional or community supervision, or detention, we now accept referrals for any young person involved in the youth justice system. The program offers options such as brief therapy and skill-development workshops, including:
Anger Management
Group programming focused on understanding anger and developing skills to work through big feelings.
Brief Therapy
Individual Therapy
Cyberbullying
Educational programming on the definitions and impacts of cyberbullying and sexting, helping participants manage online behavior and presence.
Employment
Short-term program developing job readiness, exploring career paths, writing cover letters and resumes, interview preparation, and job maintenance skills.
Financial Literacy
Explores values around money and spending habits, developing strategies for healthy money habits.
Girls Group
Supports female youth in developing a greater sense of self-worth and belonging, focusing on healthy relationships.
Keep the Peace
Skill-building workshops focused on working through conflict in relationships.
Mindfulness In Action:
Guided mindfulness exercises to cultivate awareness, shift perspectives, counteract negative thinking patterns, and promote emotional resilience.
Stop Now And Plan (SNAP)
Cognitive behavioral model teaching youth how to manage emotions, regulate effectively, and solve problems.
Substance Use
Educational programming on the impacts of substance use.
Teaching Reaching & Uniting Through Hope (TRUTH)
Supports young men in developing a stronger sense of self, exploring masculinity and relationships, with a focus on sex trafficking and its impacts.

Our pROCESS

Steps to access services

01. Referral

We accept referrals from various sources, including probation, crown, defense, community organizations, and self-referrals, depending on the program.

02. Intake

02. Intake

Our team will contact the individual within a few business days to explain the program, its benefits, and gather information about their needs.

03. Program Delivery

The individual will start the program and be assigned a key staff member for ongoing support and progress check-ins.

04. Completion

Upon completion, a final report will be sent to the referring agent, and additional supports may be provided. Feedback will be collected to improve our services.
